The Boy Nobody Wanted turns out to be none other than Johnny Crawford. Here's an example of Johnny Crawford BEFORE he was Mark McCain, The Rifleman's son. I didn't know it but Johnny Crawford was one of the original 24 or so Mousketeers.
Who Might the other kid be? I don't remember the actor's name but that's Little Luke of the Real McCoys.
About the same age as these guys was Patty MacCormick of The Bad Seed and Make Me Not a Witch. And then there was Tommy Retig - Lassie and Bobby Diamond - Fury.
In this same group was a boy called Paul Peterson (Jeff of the Donna Reed Show who is now the advocate/ombudsman/protector of child actors and runs a website called something like A Minor Consideration.
I wonder if these folk knew each other.
I gotta watch this whole episode before giving it an honest rating.
